Alongside a host of seasonal events there’s also a variety of things happening at our cultural venues like the Audain Art Museum, Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, Whistler Library, Whistler Museum and the fine art galleries. Phew! There’s so much going on that we’ve tried out best to tie a big lasso around it and herd it into one place so you can discover all the art-filled fun Whistler has to offer.

Starting in the spring Whistler is home to the World Ski and Snowboard Festival and with its apt tagline of, “Party in April, sleep in May”, it is a smashup of arts, music, and sports. As we roll into the warmer months the Whistler Farmer’s market kicks off, with artisans packing the Upper Village, with prints, woodwork, jewelry, clothing, and more.

In the heat of summer the yogis descend on Whistler for Wanderlust, the bikers for Crankworx, and music lovers will want to check out the Whistler Presents lineup. The Point Artist-Run Centre starts its open house Sundays at the lake with live music and local art exhibits, with their floating Flagstop Theatre and Arts Festival happening in August. Here at Arts Whistler we ramp up our Art on the Lake workshops, get messy with the little ones at the Whistler Children’s Festival, and have fun with our street entertainment teams who are out wowing the crowds.

As fall comes around it’s a whole season of arts fun with ArtWalk, the Whistler Beer Festival, Whistler Writers Festival, Cornucopia, the Whistler Holiday Market, and the Whistler Film Festival. Alongside this is the Arts Whistler Live series, which brings comedy, theatre, live music, ski movie premiers, and dance to the local stage at the Maury Young Arts Centre.

This rolls us into the winter, the perfect time to pluck up some creative courage and take a writing, painting or theatre class. There’s also the Deep Winter Photo Competition hosted by Whistler Blackcomb, and the Cypress Point Winter Carnival where snow sculptors reign supreme.
