Born in Oakville, Ontario in 1978, Alison moved to Toronto in 2000 to study at the Ontario College of Art & Design. During her years of education, Alison studied graphic design and photography before earning a Bachelor's Degree in Design, majoring in Material Arts.
Since her first exhibit in 2004, Hodson has continued to evolve her innovative mix of mediums. She combines the reality of a photographic image with the abstract, textural qualities of fabric to create her own unique effect. Seamlessly integrated, her work is often mistaken from afar as a painting or solely a photograph and it is not until a piece is viewed up close that the complex detail of her creations can be fully appreciated.
Hodson’s work has been featured in both Canada and US, and can be found in galleries and private collections. Alison currently lives and works in Whistler, British Columbia.
