Simon Goodman Photography is not just the art of reproduction and representation. There are many techniques open to the photographer, one of the most important being framing; what is shown and what has been left out. Focusing, depth of field, light effects, zoom and close-ups are used to produce an image from light gathered at the original scene. I enjoy using all of these to create a final, striking image. Millions of digital photos are captured daily. To consistently produce those incorporating your “idiosyncratic personal vision*” is the photographer’s constant challenge. (*Chuck Close, 1940-2021)
Sira  Pocovi It’s 1958 is the brand name behind artist Sira Pocovi. Her vibrant art aims to enhance spaces—whether it’s a home, business, or outdoor landscape—with colorful pieces that bring joy to all who view them.

Much of her work is inspired by the stunning landscapes and fauna of her home in Squamish, British Columbia, as well as other locations in the Sea to Sky corridor. She feels extremely grateful to be part of such a rich art community and to live within the unceded traditional territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw.

Sonja LeBorgne My work is a culmination of years observing nature and learning the intricately entangled lifecycles, seasons and symbiotic relationships. BC’s beautiful forests and wildlife have served as my inspiration, Big Leaf maples and stately Douglas firs, the enduring Arbutus trees and ancient Cedars and all the wildlife who call this beautiful place home.

My hope is that my work brings you an opportunity to tune into nature, to see the interweaving beauty that lies around us and to pause from the chaos of modern life to enjoy a moment of quiet contemplation and great reverence for the stunning natural world.

Sophie Meynial An artist who lives in the Sea to Sky but comes from overseas. She has two passions, art and nature. However, her inspiration doesn’t come only from the outdoors but from the people and jokes her friends make.

Every day something, a look, an object or humour can be part of her inspiration.

Stacey Bodnaruk Mother Nature is truly the ultimate artist, and I aim to celebrate her through my work.  I draw inspiration from the mountains, forests and coastlines of the Pacific Northwest. My artwork is created from multiple photos within one piece, that are merged to create a vibrant, one-of-a-kind artwork that would never be achieved from one photo alone.  Each piece tells a story of the area or moment in nature.  With creative balance between elemental layers and visual concepts, I am able to communicate a story which leaves the viewer directed but not limited to the freedom of interpretation.

Steffi  Lai As a freelance graphic designer and artist, Steffi finds painting to be a very nice break from the computer screen, and an opportunity to create something more hands-on (as opposed to a keyboard or iPad), to diversify her work. When she isn’t designing or creating art, she tries to wind down with tea and catch up on sleep, sketch, climb, watch anime, and read. She is humbled and grateful to be able to live and work in Squamish, BC, which is located within the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw traditional territories.

Stephen Dancey Vancouver-based artist Stephen Dancey creates paintings that offer an abstract interpretation of the terrain of the Pacific Northwest, drawing inspiration from the coastal islands, mountains, and waters of western Canada.

Often starting with a natural landscape and transitioning into abstraction, Dancey’s paintings invite viewers to connect with the idea of a landscape as something familiar and recognizable before being drawn into the more abstract, textural, and tactile elements of his work.

He is committed to minimizing his environmental footprint through his acrylic paint collages which repurpose dry paint from his palette, revealing unexpected beauty, rich colours and textures.

Sunny Suzuki This marks an exciting moment on the artist’s path of sharing her work publicly for the first time. Long-term admirer; first time submitter—this emerging artist’s lighthearted work focuses on color, whimsy and the Celebration of Winter.

Perhaps this piece might put a smile on your face or a spark in your heart. If so, the artist’s objective has been satisfied: to invoke in others the same, fanciful feeling the artist conjures up while creating her eclectic, personal, and inspired works, which brings her an outlet for joy.

Wendy Hargreaves  In recent times, it feels as though sunsets have become a little more captivating, as if we’re all seeing the sky’s beauty in a new light. The ethereal dance of colour and light invites us to pause, breathe, and embrace the infinite possibilities within each moment. There is a quiet magic in the way the sky transitions, an ever-changing masterpiece that speaks to the heart and soul. This art piece is an homage to those peaceful, awe-inspiring moments—often shared with loved ones—when the world seems to slow down, and everything feels just a little more beautiful.

Yoica ten Brincke Hi I’m Yoica, I’m currently building a Canadian wildlife collection from my cozy, Whistler studio. I’ve always loved studying and drawing animals.

Working with archival quality acrylics, I use a glazing technique to build up each painting layer by layer. My larger pieces can take months to complete as I bring out the unique character of each animal. The paintings are only finished when they give off the right mood and emotions.

I hope you connect with my art on the same emotional level and they give you a moment to pause and admire these incredible animals up close.
