To our Arts Scene contributors, event producers, artists, and community groups,
In our collective community efforts to minimize the spread and impact of the COVID-19 virus, the arts and events sector is following government and health authority directives, which essentially eliminates gatherings of 10 or more people.
Given that the impact has resulted in event cancellations and postponements with unconfirmed dates for all arts and event organizers, Arts Whistler has put a hold on printing the summer edition of Arts Scene until further notice.
With uncertain and changing dates, it would be a wasted effort to try to confirm events and listings at this time. As soon as the situation allows, we will relaunch our call for submissions and ensure that active event listings are online for the summer. If the situation resolves fairly quickly, then we will still print a summer Arts Scene for distribution.
Our website and calendar listings remain open, if you’re planning ahead please go ahead and post your events. Ensure that you’ve included your website and contact information so that people can contact you to confirm event details.
At this time, we have limited staff resources available to coordinate changing event details. Event listings will be approved weekly, so it may take a little longer than normal to see your published events appear in the calendar.
Thank you to all of the artists who have already submitted beautiful work for the cover! We will include your submissions for the next upcoming issue and will be in touch once we have confirmed dates.
Thanks for your understanding during this challenging and ever-changing time.
