Falling for Arts – Kids Style!

Falling for Arts – Kids Style!

A child’s spirit cannot be subdued, and just because it might be a rainy fall day doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun! As we Fall for Arts, we ramp up the indoor fun, with lots of opportunities for kids to enjoy crafts, music and lots of giggles.

Krafty Kids offers a variety of workshops sure to get your little ones excited for the ‘in-between’ season. It’s an Eggs-citing start to October with the Eggs-citing Creations workshop. Using eggs, kids will create colourful characters and let their imaginations run wild with all the eggs-cellent possibilities! Check it out October 3rd.

Chroma-what? Well it’s called Chromatography and it’s a mix of science and craft. A good one for inquisitive minds and those that want their craft to have meaning. This one’s happening on October 17th. Then things really start getting festive on October 10th with Thanksgiving crafts as you create a variety of Canadian and Thanksgiving art to decorate and liven up your fall décor. Don’t be a turkey and miss out! This workshop is a popular one and let’s face it, if you don’t have a paper-hand-cutout-turkey on your fridge is it even Thanksgiving?

Time to trick or to treat as Halloween is right around the corner and it’s so fun to make spooky, cooky crafts! With all supplies provided, give your kids the chance to let their creativity fly free and go for it. Just say BOO! to this Halloween workshop on October 24th

Don’t forget to haunting early with your Halloween festivities with Juno award winner Norman Foote on October 19th. This legendary children’s performer will be joined onstage by our very own Myrtle Philip Community School Singers as they sing, stomp and dance their way through a musical masquerade ‘The Howl’. Don your best costumes and join in on the fun as Norman gets you into the Halloween spirit with music and laughter. The whole family can come together and celebrate the spookiest time of year as they build confidence and celebrate their individuality.

Another thing you should be AWARE of this fall is that there is an amazing club that lets kids learn all about nature. The AWARE Kids Nature Club captures the fascination of Mother Nature and Mother Earth. With topics like creepy crawlies, birds and ‘being bear smart’ this club offers kids and parents a place to learn and have fun… and it’s completely free, no sign up required. Check it out September 29th, October 27th and November 24th.

Arts Whistler offers even more programming that let’s family’s connect and fall for arts together such as Family Together Time, Music and Words, Drop Ins and Singing Time. Discoer all things arts happening this fall in our calendar of events.

Jumping in piles of leaves, carving pumpkins, dressing up for Halloween…and ART! We’re so glad kids can fall for arts just like us big kids. Don’tcha just love fall?
