Ever had one of those days when you wish you could just hop on a spaceship and leave this chaotic world behind? Well, guess what – a retired astronaut has stolen a spaceship just for you! In this high-flying, hilariously unpredictable adventure, you’ll get a front-row seat to a mission that might just take you to a happier place.
But before you blast off, there’s one catch: you need to jettison your emotional baggage first. It will just weigh us down.
Some lucky audience members will even get to volunteer as crew members (no pressure, but you’re totally invited). As the spaceship hurtles through space, things go… well, a little haywire. The crew will face unexpected setbacks, emotional androids, alien entities, a nasty nebula, and an impromptu mutiny. Oh, and the engine might just shut down. Looks like the only way forward is to make it up as we go along.
This laugh-out-loud, touching steampunk space adventure is the brainchild of David C. Jones, an award-winning improviser who knows a thing or two about overcoming obstacles. David’s life has been filled with remarkable achievements, a fair share of self-inflicted foibles, and more than a few unexpected betrayals. Add in a recent diagnosis of schizotypal tendencies, and you’ve got a journey that’s as real as it is ridiculous.
The show is a wild mix of scripted comedy, improvisation, and audience participation (volunteers needed!). So, buckle up and get ready for a rollercoaster through space and trauma. Because, haven’t we all had a moment where we just wanted to escape to a place where no one can bother us, and we can live happily ever after?
