Call for Artists | Peaks & Valleys Exhibit

Be part of the Peaks & Valleys art show!
Arts Whistler, in collaboration with Whistler Community Services Society, invites local artists to contribute to Peaks & Valleys: A Landscape of Mental Health—a powerful exhibit exploring key challenges affecting Sea to Sky residents.
We are seeking artwork that reflects one of three pressing issues:
• The Impact of Injury – Feelings of isolation from sports and mental health injuries, pain management, rehabilitation, missing out on activities, finding new outlets, and the role of community support.
• A Sense of Belonging – The transient nature of seasonal work, homesickness, separation from family and friends, acceptance in community based on intersectionality (race, socioeconomic status, etc.), and limited social opportunities beyond sports and nightlife.
• Access to Basic Needs – Food and housing security, financial stability, employment challenges, and access to essential services.
Artists may draw from personal experiences, community observations, or highlight tools for supporting these challenges.
You are encouraged to interpret these themes in a way that best reflects your own perspective. The descriptions above serve as a starting point for understanding the concepts, but we welcome diverse approaches to the topics.

How to apply:
• Complete this online registration form. This form must be submitted before artwork is dropped off. Front desk staff can refuse work if the form has not been received. PLEASE CHECK FOR A CONFIRMATION EMAIL AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR FORM. If you have not received a confirmation email, your form was not submitted. Please verify that all required fields have been filled in.
• Drop off your artwork at the front desk of the Arts Centre (4335 Blackcomb Way, Whistler BC V8E 0X4) during opening hours.
• Artwork can be mailed to this address above, and must be received by the deadline. Please address packages to Jessica Brown, C/O Arts Whistler.
***Due to our limited resources, unsold artwork must be picked up at the Maury Young Arts Centre and will not be shipped back to artists.***
