The best way we get to know the characters in a novel is not through exposition or internal monologue but by what they actually do and what they say. In this workshop, we will look at writing in scenes rather than in summary, “showing” rather than “telling” the story – bringing it to life. Scenes are where we get up close and personal with the characters. Scenes are where we’re in the thick of the moment, writing in real time. Come stretch your writing skills with author Tim Wynne-Jones (The Starlight Claim), two-time Governor General’s Award winner and author of 37 books for people of all ages.
