Introduction to Pyrography
May 15 | 6pm | The Arts Centre
Would you like to have a go at a traditional folk art? Have you ever fancied burning designs into a natural surface? This course is an introduction to anyone who is interested in the art of woodburning or pyrography.
Ideal for the beginner, this course provides a full introduction to the decorative art of pyrography which involves using a specialized electrically heated pen to burn designs on natural materials. The instructor will demonstrate various techniques and allow time for participants to experiment with different lines, textures and shading; these basics will allow you to create your own unique take-home piece. Inspiration and designs will be provided but feel free to bring your own projects and ideas.
So, whether you are looking for a new hobby or maybe you carve your own spoons or bowls and want to take your designs one step further this is the course for you.
