In 2016 a group of volunteers worked to create “Arts Whistler Presents: The Chili Thom Experience”. For three weeks in June 2017, the magic and spirit of Chili Thom was celebrated throughout Whistler with exhibitions, eccentric evenings, performances, and a showcase of Chili-inspired young artists’ work. This resort-wide celebration lit up every building on Whistler’s Cultural Connector, and honoured one of the most significant artists to work, live, and contribute to the Sea to Sky community.

The Chili Thom scholarship fund is a lasting legacy of The Chili Thom Experience, and made possible by the generous donations of local business, community members, family, and friends.

Fundraising for The Chili Thom Experience included the creation of this legacy fund in Chili Thom’s name – a gift to all the Chili’s of the future, from the town that knew and loved him.

Arts Whistler and the project team of volunteers who produced The Chili Thom Experience recognizes and thanks those patrons and businesses who were instrumental in making this scholarship happen, including the founding donors of The Chili Thom Experience: Sushi Village, The Whistler Grocery Store, Gibbons Whistler, The Houssian Family Foundation, The World Ski and Snowboard Festival, and The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation.
