Whistler Public Library and Armchair Books have joined forces to start a Community Book Club! Free and open to all, the club meets on the last Wednesday of each month. We read something for everyone: throughout the year, we’ll explore different genres and read books by authors with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Our choices might make you laugh, cry, or challenge a long-held belief, but whether you love or hate the book, we promise a lively, thought-provoking discussion. It might sound obvious, but we highly recommend you read the book to effectively engage in the conversation!
When: Wednesday, May 27, 7 p.m.
Where: Fireplace Lounge, Whistler Public Library
Who: Everyone welcome, no registration required
How much: Free
Which book: Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Where to get a copy: Borrow at WPL or buy at Armchair Books (mention the book club and receive 15% off)
Synopsis: Everyone knows Daisy Jones & The Six: The band’s album Aurora came to define the rock ‘n’ roll era of the late seventies, and an entire generation of girls wanted to grow up to be Daisy. But no one knows the reason behind the group’s split on the night of their final concert at Chicago Stadium on July 12, 1979 . . . until now.
