TEXTURED ACRYLIC LANDSCAPES

This course will explore the abstracted style of landscape painting using Golden Acrylic Paints and Golden Fiber Paste. Students will create textured mountain-inspired landscapes using unique tools and techniques, as well as learn about mark making, colour theory and composition.

Workshop Details

Students will complete several sample boards as well as one larger sized painting.

 

Instructor Bio

Samantha Williams-Chapelsky completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Alberta in 2009, with distinction, majoring in painting and art history.

Samantha has been exhibiting her art extensively for the past 10 years, participating in over 50 exhibitions including showings in Scotland, India, Italy, and New York. Her paintings are included in numerous corporate and private collections and are represented in Calgary, Saskatoon, Mississauga, and Whistler commercial art galleries.

Samantha is the Golden Working Artist for the province of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. She also works as an art instructor and lecturer, hosting workshops and sessions across Alberta.

Most supplies included – participants will be sent the supply list once registration is complete.

 

How to get there

The Alta Lake Station House is located 4km south of Whistler Village and is accessible by car, bike, or foot. Parking is at Wayside Park. It is approximately a 15-minute walk to the location along the Valley Trail. Please allow yourself time, especially if you are bringing a lot of art supplies. Also, bring your own lunch and snacks, the Alta Lake Station House is not close to any restaurants or grocery stores. The venue is equipped with a full-service kitchen, complete with stove and refrigerator.
