Apply to Volunteer at the Whistler Children’s Festival


Each summer, the heart of Whistler Village is transformed as tents, balloons, stages, and circus acts populate the Great Lawn at Whistler Olympic Plaza for the annual Whistler Children’s Festival. This action-packed weekend of creativity has dozens of hands-on crafts, live musical performances, and a host of activities where kids and adults alike can let their imaginations run wild! This is always a fun weekend – take part!

We are currently accepting volunteer applications:

As a volunteer you can mold your volunteer experience and select a role that best suits your personality, interests and availability.

Event dates: Friday, July 5 4pm-7pm | Saturday, July 6 10am – 4pm | Sunday, July 7 10am-7pm
Location: Whistler Olympic Plaza

We are looking for help in the following areas:

  • All Star
    Are you multi-talented and flexible? The All-Star role will allow you to assist in multiple areas, taking on positions that require additional volunteers and filling in for volunteers who require a break. A fun and diverse role!
  • Décor Assistant 
    Do you have an eye for detail? Want to express you creative side? Décor volunteers help to create, set up and tear down the decoration items that give the Whistler Children’s Festival its creative and artistic flair.
  • Ticket Agent
    Love a busy, face paced environment? Join our ticket sales team in this customer focused role at the festival entrance. Previous cash handling skills an asset.
  • Admissions Ambassador
    Are you a good communicator and take initiative to help people? In this role you will be assisting festival goers by providing schedule information and directing them as needed. You must have loads of energy, and be a friendly face for arriving guests.
  • Festival Entry Ambassador
    Are you responsible with great attention to detail? In this role you will ensure that everyone entering the festival has the correct festival entry ticket. A positive attitude and friendly demeanour are a must for this role as you greet excited young guests entering the festival grounds.
  • Green Team
    Are you passionate about keeping our environment green? The green team are responsible for keeping the great lawn clean and safe throughout the festival by assisting with waste reduction and recycling.
  • Festival Ambassador
    Are you energetic, customer focused and great with children? Similar to the admissions ambassador, the festival ambassador provides information to attendees as well as promoting and selling fun tickets for the on ground activities and Make-it Tent.
  • Craft/Activity Facilitator
    Do you love arts and crafts and working with children? Then, look no further than becoming one of our craft/activity facilitators. Interact, assist and supervise festival goers with a variety of games, activities and artistic creations throughout the day. 

Criminal Record Check Requirements

Please note, to become part of our team we require all volunteers for the Whistler Children’s Festival to submit for a Criminal Records Check with the local RCMP. More information on how to do this will be given to accepted participants.


Please note that we will not review & respond to applications until June 2019.
