Dick in a box? Yup, that’s a game.

Whistler Facebook parody? You bet they go there.

A sporadic musical number? Why not!

Ira Pettle, B.A., M.Ed

Ira has been performing, teaching, directing, and producing theatre for over 25 years. He is truly a theatre geek, improv-acting junkie, and lover of midday naps. A graduate of the acclaimed Second City Conservatory Program in Toronto, Ira was named 2019 Champion of Arts and Culture at the Whistler Excellence Awards and is thrilled to be returning to the Maury Young Arts Centre stage as co-producer, director, and core cast member of Laugh Out LIVE! Ira is also in studio, recording his debut album slated for release in 2022 and while animals often stop to listen to the sound of his heartbeat, and babies almost never cry in his presence, he is still very skeptical of the colour and spelling of fuchsia.

Rebecca Mason, B.A., FYI

Rebecca dropped a Division 1 hockey career to pursue her acting talent in New York, Russia, and Los Angeles. Once all her visas expired (and no one wanted to marry her), she moved back to Vancouver and pursued film production, working on projects such as ABC’s The Good Doctor, Disney’s The Descendents, and CW’s Frequency. Now in Whistler, Rebecca is excited for her local theatre debut at the Maury Young Arts Centre stage as co-producer and leading lady of Laugh Out LIVE! When Rebecca is not performing, she’s busy building her online empire, skiing Khyber’s Pass, and brewing beer in her bedroom.

Dave Francis

Born and raised in the snowless, flat lands of West Yorkshire, England. Dave grew up skiing on plastic bristles for kicks, so it wasn’t long before he turned his attention to the west. It’s that classic Whistler story, came for the winter, stayed for the improv scene….am I right?! Most of his early improv experience came at the hands of four-year old skiers demanding non-stop entertainment, and it was under this intense pressure and scrutiny that he developed his craft. The stage wasn’t an obvious path for Dave, but after spending 40 days and 40 nights on a windswept mountain top meditating on the true nature of comedy, some now say he can hear a whoopie cushion on the breeze itself…he’s now ready to make his debut with Laugh Out LIVE!
