Nita Lake Lodge is a proud member of Arts Whistler’s We Heart Local Art program, which matches local businesses with local artists so that they can showcase their art on the walls of the business. Search our Culture Maps by “Businesses with local art” to see whose art is featured where. See something you like? All the art pieces are for sale. Arts Whistler doesn’t take a commission, we just want to promote local artists and businesses, because, well, that’s our jam.
Nita Lake Lodge is Whistler’s only lakeside hotel. Located in Creekside, where the original village was actually built, it’s sat overlooking Nita Lake. If you’re not staying there it’s still worth a visit as their cafe, The Fix, is known for its baked goods, and the bar and restaurant serve up beautiful cocktails while you soak in the stunnung lake views.
Check out work by local artist:
Stacey Bodnaruk: Opposite the front desk you’ll find some striking artography by local artist Stacey Bodnaruk. What’s artography I hear you cry? It’s art + photography, the blend of digitally manipulated photography and design. Three to seven photos are captured, edited, and blended together through layers and textures in digital software.
Brilliant colors come to life, and worlds are skewed and reinvented to create dreamlike landscapes of mountains, oceans, and forests.
Mike Crane: A British Columbia based professional photographer since 2006, Mike’s work is born through exploration and adventure in the British Columbia Coast mountains and beyond. His collection features unique landscapes often captured during multiple-day, human-powered journeys exploring the vast beauty in our mountains. Awards include: ‘Cerise Dreams’ winner of the “Active Outdoors” category in the Canadian Geographic annual photo competition, January 2020.
Jenna Jones: Jenna’s art combines 3 elements; Breath, Movement and Water. A variety of breathing techniques to push the fluid mediums and physically moving the canvas to create flow. Many of the abstracts are inspired by bodies of water and nature. Jenna’s way of paying it forward is to donate proceeds of her art to ocean conservation and clean up.
Michaela Ivancova: Michaela Ivancova, also called MachiMela, is a passionate artist that finds inspiration in nature and personal experiences. She focuses on depicting events from her personal life and her own states of mind. Her past experiences and opportunities had guided her in this direction allowing her art to tell her story.
