Dave Petko: He has resided in Whistler since 1995. He picks subject matter that he mostly finds interesting and not what sells quickly. Petko’s work aims to tell underlying stories, where the main, lone characters are found situated in strangely disturbing lands. He prefers to leave the viewer to decide how the story ends for each one. His body of work is mainly acrylic, but does range from clay sculptures to watercolour, and even beneath living skin as tattoos. His artwork can be seen at the Chili Thom Gallery in Function Junction, Whistler and House of RTS in Squamish. When Dave isn’t painting or tattooing he is organizing group art shows, mountain biking or hanging with his dog Vinnie.
