I predominantly work in charcoal, graphite, coloured pencils and recently branched out to painting with oils and acrylics. Art was a passion through school and it became an outlet when I became a paramedic in Tasmania, Australia. I immersed myself in my drawings as a positive means of channeling the stresses experienced in the job. I took a sabbatical, in 2013, to experience a Winter Season in Whistler. I loved it here so much that I decided to leave my old life behind, apply for residency and now call Whistler home. When not working full-time at a Whistler Hotel, you can usually find me with a pencil or paint brush in my hand. I enjoy recreating portraits of people and pets to give to friends and family as gifts. Since the launch of my website, www.cailincarrier.com, I have started taking commissions for photo recreations and tattoo designs. I am excited to share my creations within the local Whistler arts scene.
