Whistler Street Entertainment:

What is it?

From balloon twisters and fire spinners to Vancouver Symphony Orchestra quartets and professional dancers, Whistler Village is bustling with free street entertainment all summer long. From May through September you can watch and take part in all the action on the village stroll including: live music, dance, circus & outdoor theatre shows, arts & crafts for kids, sporting displays, and live art competitions. Come experience the fun and creative entertainment by both local and touring artists and performers.

How to get involved?

We are now accepting artist and performer applications for Whistler Street Entertainment 2018

If you are an artist or performer interested in showcasing your talent, developing your skills and engaging with the community, all while entertaining the masses, then please apply for our 2018 year of programming.

Please note that programming dates have changed for Summer 2018.
Programming will occur on Saturdays in June and on Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays in July and August.

Only those who fill out an application will be considered. We are no longer accepting e-mail applications.

Applications will be reviewed and those selected will be contacted via e-mail in early spring.

The Whistler Street Entertainment programs is organized by Arts Whistler on behalf of the Resort Municipality of Whistler.

Busking on the Fitzsimmons Trail

What is it?

Through the trees, over the Fitzsimmons Creek, and into the Upper Village, Busking on the Fitzsimmons Trail livens up the summer experience in Whistler. Coinciding with the Farmer’s Market in the Upper Village, as well as major events and celebrations all around Whistler, Busking on the Fitzsimmons Trail adds creativity and culture to the Fitzsimmons Creek and Rebagliati Park area in the summertime.

Take in a variety of family-friendly acts including live music, visual artists, children’s entertainers, balloon artists, caricaturists, as well as, athletic and dance displays.

Buskers are supported by donations from the audience so leave them a token of your appreciation if you see something you like!

How to get involved?

Arts Whistler and the Resort Municipality of Whistler are excited to confirm the return of the Busking on the Fitzsimmons Trail. Neighbouring with the Farmer’s Market in the Upper Village and major event weekends throughout the summer!

Busking will be permitted on Wednesdays and Sundays from June 18 to September 10, 2018 from 11 am to 7 pm.

PERMIT OPTIONS:

  • Full Season Permit – $45 + GST- Valid July 1st – September 9th, 2018 from 11 am to 7 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays. Deadline to apply is July 15th, 2018
  • Half Season Permit – $35 + GST – Valid August 1st – September 9th, 2018 from 11 am to 7 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays. Deadline to apply is July 25th This option is suited to performers who may have arrived in Whistler mid-summer season or are committed otherwise during the first half of the summer season.
  • One Day Permit – $15 + GST – Valid only for one date issued on either a Wednesday or Sunday (between July 1st – September 10th) from 11 am to 7 pm. Applications must be received a week in advance of the date requested. This option is applicable for one-off performers visiting Whistler.
