STUDENT ART AWARDS

Are you a creative student in Whistler, Pemberton, or Mt. Currie?

Apply for an Arts Whistler Student Art Award.

Since 1987, Arts Whistler has been recognizing the artistic achievement in the visual, literary, performing and media arts of graduating students from elementary and secondary schools in Whistler, Pemberton, and Mt. Currie.

Applications for the Arts Whistler Student Art Award are open from March/April to the first week in May each year. 

Awards of $100 are given to individuals graduating Grade 7, and $500 to individuals graduating Grade 12, from schools in Whistler, Pemberton and Mt. Currie. 

Awards are presented to successful applicants at the end of the school year.

  • Myrtle Philip Community School
  • Spring Creek Community School
  • Whistler Secondary School
  • Whistler Waldorf School
  • Signal Hill Elementary School
  • Pemberton Secondary
  • École La Passerelle Whistler
  • l’École de La Vallée de Pemberton
  • Xet̓ólacw Community Schoo

*Eligible students must reside full-time in Whistler, Pemberton or Mt. Currie.

STUDENT ART BURSARIES

Apply for an Arts Whistler Art Bursary.

Arts Whistler is dedicated to making the arts accessible to all children and youth in our community. Our bursary program is available to students in any grade from schools in Whistler, Pemberton, or Mt. Currie. Bursaries are available for students who wish to further their studies in the visual, performing, literary, or media arts at a credible institution or from a recognized mentor or artist. 

Bursaries of $100-$200 are awarded and can contribute to tuition, accommodation, and travel costs associated with the studies.

Bursary applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Financial need of the applicant student or family. Families who are experiencing financial hardship will be given priority.
  • Previous training or experience and accomplishment in the area of the art the student plans to pursue.
  • Credibility of the mentor artist, institute, school or program the student is attending.

*Eligible students must reside full-time in Whistler, Pemberton or Mt. Currie.

Student Art Bursaries applications are open year-round and are awarded subject to available funding.

Bursaries are available for courses, workshops or camps which take place at any time of year. Applications will be juried within 30 days of submission.
