Baz Carolan was one of the first to raise his hand when the Whistler Arts Council pitched the idea of an artist video series earlier this year. He was the first person that got to be part of our experiment to see if local artists are camera shy. It turns out that Baz is 50% camera shy and 50% super star.
Baz is originally from Ireland and you cannot help but fall in love with not only his accent but his art work. When we first met Baz, he was a mere pip squeak trying to navigate the ins and outs of living in a ski town. Since then, he has had his work featured on snowboards been part of multiple events and has recently created all the illustrations for this season’s Survival Guide.
We chatted with Baz to find out more about what it was like as an artist in Ireland and how he’s transitioned into becoming a prominent Whistler Artist.
