Higher Education: The Next Paradigm

President and vice-chancellor of Capilano University Paul Dangerfield will speak to how the landscape for higher education is changing, and quickly. Global, national, and local influences including AI, climate crisis and UN Sustainable Development Guidelines, equity and diversity, truth and reconciliation, shifting demographics, polarized politics and new kinds of demands from society, necessitate a new kind of university with a renewed focus on providing meaningful goods. This session will talk about the current environment in higher education and what Capilano University is doing to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future.
This event will take place in the theatre at the Maury Young Arts Centre in Whistler, doors and a cash bar in the gallery will open at 5:15pm. The event will be followed by a ticketed private 3-course dinner at Quattro Restaurant at 8pm to continue the conversation.
