Tara Ryan: Tara was born in Ontario and moved to Whistler December 2003 “for a winter” with her plastic beer bottle piggy bank full of toonies that she had saved. She studied art and advertising in college before moving west and continues to paint on a regular basis.
Current inspirations include beautiful BC scenery and her favourite sunny vacation spots. She works mainly with acrylics on canvas, but with Whistler inspiration, she recently started painting used skis and snowboards, transforming them into wall art.
Creating customized pieces is a favourite for her, often incorporating wall and furniture colours to make a piece merge perfectly into a specific room. Vibrant, often unblended colours are also a trademark.
