Usually painted with contrasting bright backdrops in yellow, blue, and orange his paintings pop with the expressionate faces of B.C.’s wildlife. Andy has been selling his art in the Sea to Sky corridor since 2004 and is a full-time professional artist specializing in large-scale custom works, small prints, and plaques.
"It started with one bear and pretty soon I was consistently painting bear commissions for people. So in a way the wildlife chose me. I eventually was keen to balance out the collection. Wildlife is quite challenging to capture, perhaps that’s why I like it. They make fantastic subjects and I like bringing awareness to our bears and other animals."
Although Andy revels in BC’s rich wildlife, some of his favourite pieces are landscapes and you’ll find mountains, glaciers, snow-ladden trees, and cityscapes featured on his walls.
Andy has a gallery in Squamish where you can experience (and purchase) his work. The Gallery is a 2000 sqft working studio full of bears, mountain goats, eagles, and ravens – acrylic ones.
