Barb was born in Vancouver, BC and has been in the art world since she was a little girl surrounded and inspired by a family of artists. She worked for decades as an ER nurse and in disaster planning but her creative side has always played a role in her.
She is fortunate to have 3 studios to work in located in Vancouver and Whistler but come summer she heads to her studio on her family's rural property, here she can work on large scale pieces outdoors. This studio looks out onto an old growth forest providing a sanctuary where wildlife abounds. It's an endless supply of inspiration.
Over the decades she has curated several galleries, shows and events and now acts as a juror for various Canadian art associations. She has done both solo and group shows across the continent. A recipient of numerous awards of recognition and in 2021 she was awarded Signature Status with the Federation of Canadian Artists.
As a new member of the Aberthau Pottery Club, stay tuned for her pottery creations. Her new outdoor kiln is just about ready to fire up.
