Manna Morlin

FINE ARTIST

Proud self-taught neurodiverse Canadian artist. Marianne, life long curse, pronounced Marianna, (German ancestry), Manna is a childhood nickname reclaimed as an artist alias when emerging from the trauma inflicted by Covid. With no formal training other than grade 12 High School Art, she stopped painting because of the constant negativity from people close to her, but after a devistating Covid lay-off & finally identifying as autistic at age 44, she picked up a paint brush again after 20 years, soley because of her former employer, local Langley business man, & personal hero, Glenn Bell. Through his encouragement, she was initially inspired by the photo realism movement (being a person who naturally goes against the grain), painting from what she photographed out in the world, & more recently starting to develope her own style, resulting in her acceptance to Active Status with the Federation of Canadian Artists. Manna Morlin is a proud member of the Langley Arts Council & unlike her own experience, strongly encourages her own 2 autistic boy to paint & create. If it doesn't work the first time, use more paint. Life is full of coulours, use them. Be bold & vibrant. Don't ever let others tell you how you should or shouldn't create. Her moto: "I'm not everyone's cup of tea, & that's OK!"
