Tannis is a f/t Resin Artist located in the Pacific Northwest who has a lifelong passion for exploring and developing her creative process. Her extensive travel, diverse skill sets and formal training at WhiteCliffe College of Arts & Design and UFV provided her with a solid foundation for her artistic vision and expression. “Creating art is a very sacred process to me that carries with it a potential for something new to arise in the Spirit." Tannis has created and developed a unique concept called a ‘Living Urn Sanctuary”. A Living Urn Sanctuary is a 3D resin Wall Art painting that commemorates your Loved One or pet by incorporating their ashes directing into the painting. The idea was conceived by the sudden loss of her father in 2018. She was inspired to celebrate her own life by honouring and remembering the Spirit of her Father through creative contemplation. Tannis handcrafts all the beautiful hardwood frames in her wood shop, incorporates lighting to illuminate her pieces, she curates and infuses her art with Quartz varieties, minerals, Herkimer Diamonds and sentimental jewelry. Her work is rich, vibrant and reflective using mica, inks and interference colouring to catch the light in brilliant ways. Her pieces are specifically designed to the feel of your home, enhancing its beauty, warmth and presence while honouring your Loved One. She creates custom works of art for any reason or celebration and can be with or without the use of ashes. Tannis also mentors Resin 1 on 1 art sessions for people who are looking to go deeper into a creative practice.
